Practice Groups

Our swim team is split into 4 groups: Stroke School, Beginner, Intermediate, and Senior Swimmers. Although there are suggested age ranges for each group, we may assign swimmers to a different practice based on ability.

Senior Swimmers — Ages 11 & older (9:00–11:00 AM, including 30 min of dryland). Our senior group is for our oldest and most experienced swimmers. Senior swimmers should have a foundation in competitive swimming and be comfortable swimming multiple strokes. Practices include targeted technique work, race strategy, and dryland training designed to build strength and athleticism both in and out of the water. Swimmers should be able to respectfully share a lane with teammates and be ready to push themselves in a fun, high-energy environment.

Intermediate Swimmers — Ages 10 & under (9:00–10:30 AM, includes 15 min dryland) Our intermediate group is designed for swimmers who can swim independently and are ready to build on their skills in a more structured setting. Swimmers in this group will develop technique across multiple strokes, be introduced to legal racing skills like starts and turns, and begin working toward 25-yard races. Practices include a dryland component focused on body awareness and coordination. No prior competitive experience is required — just a strong base in the water and a willingness to learn.

Beginner Swimmers (10:15–11:00 AM) Our beginner group is the perfect starting point for new swimmers joining the team for the first time. Swimmers should be able to swim independently but do not need any competitive experience. Coaches will focus on building water confidence, introducing legal strokes, and making sure every swimmer feels comfortable and included. The goal is simple: have fun and fall in love with the sport.

Stroke School (11:00–11:30 AM) Stroke School is for our youngest and newest aspiring swimmers. Coaches work closely with swimmers to deliver focused instruction on the foundational skills needed to one day join the full team. Stroke School swimmers don't need to be fully independent in the water yet, but should have some comfort and ease around the pool.
